Introduction to MyPortal

My Portal is a gateway to the Intrasuite, a service that references one or more Web Parts. Each Web Part is a self-contained module of Extensible Markup Language (XML), HTML, or script and is designed to retrieve and render the information you want to include in the portal. When the user loads the portal, the portal retrieves the Web Parts that it is configured to display.
If you set the appropriate permissions while creating a My Portal, you can design it so users can exercise considerable control over the portal’s content. For example, you can set portal properties that make it possible for your user to add, remove, or configure Web Parts at run time.

The Web Parts that make up a portal are easy to build. Your users can create relatively simple Web Parts (“Post it’s” or Inline Frames). User can create more complex Web Parts by using the development environment and My Portal Administration.

My Portal is "extension" for Intrasuite. My Portal is easy to integrate with Intrasuite by using themes. My Portal is divided to 2 main user groups, site administrators and end-users. These 2 main groups appear also in clearly on usage of my portal. Administrator’s works only through My Portal Administration and can create only shared web parts and pages. End-Users work directly on front end and can only create personal pages and web parts with much more simpler interface.
